Moody’s Analytics’ PFaroe™ DB solution has won ‘Life and Pensions ALM system of the Year’ in the 2021 Risk Technology Awards.

This marks a consecutive win for Moody’s Analytics following its success at the 2020 Risk Technology Awards in the same category, and is one of five categories won by Moody’s Analytics at the 2021 ceremony.

It also recognises the calibre and growing global footprint of the PFaroe DB solution’s client base, entering new strategic growth markets and onboarding a host of new clients in 2021.

Commenting on the win, Matthew Seymour, Head of Buy Side Solutions at Moody’s Analytics, said: “The volatility seen in markets last year created almost unprecedented risk exposure across the pensions and investments industry. Now, the numbers are telling us that plans are in fact in a better state than they were pre-pandemic; pension fund assets rose to over USD 25 trillion at end-2020, increasing in almost all countries despite the shock of Covid-19, according to the OECD.”

“The key takeaway here is that, in today’s environment, things can change very quickly. Staying on top of how a funding level is performing – and having the tools to react quickly at your fingertips – will be key to ensuring you’re better protected against downside risk in future. That’s why pension plans, asset managers, and consultants choose our PFaroe DB solution time and time again,” he adds.

How Winners Are Chosen

The Risk Technology Awards focus on market risk, trading, and investment risk technology, and recognise vendors that are doing most to help the industry meet its various challenges in the fields of ALM, credit, and operational risk, as well as wider enterprise risk management. The award winners are decided by a panel of judges selected by the editors of Risk.net.
